6/11 The quality of the presentation
The making of the slides is one of the important elements that lead to a good presentation. However,
if the actual presentation skills from the members are un plentiful, even if the slides are good, the quality of the presentation would fall. In order to explain this, we were given an example. For instance, even though the actual food the waitress looks good, if the waitress drops it then the consumers desire the food would lessen. "even if the presentation is good, the audience would lose their attention if the skills were low." Presentations as a group are the first challenge for me. One thing I thought was that doing a presentation as a group is more difficult than single since all of the teammates had to have enthusiasm towards the making and practice in order to keep the level.
I hope to keep my own motivation as well as the group motivation by participating in the work and finish the making earlier.
Today's group work finished before the making of the title slide and photo choosing ended. In the middle, Mr. Paterson had instructed us that in order to prevent the group to divide, it is important to
sit in front of each other face to face. Our first problem was that most of us were working individually
unchanged from the first situation. After facing each other, the work had gone more smoothly, and the frequency of conversation increased too. For the actual presentation, we divided the work into the member who searches the photos for the content slides and the members who make and devise a better title slide. Although the work is moving on, we are still in a late situation counting the days until the presentation day and comparing to other teams. We hope to do the making as a group homework in order to finish the work and spend more on the skill practices. I hope to participate mainly more on the conversation as a group next class.
