chapter 8 The Hearing

Harry gasped as the entered the large dungeon. "You're late." mentioned a cool male voice belonging to a wizard called Fudge, echoed through the hall. Harry replied nervously, "Sorry.""I didn't know the tine had been changed." A wizard covered up for Harry explaining that it was not his fault the correct time was delivered to him lately. The hearing started as Dumbledore suddenly appeared behind him speaking for himself, "Witness dor the defense, Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore." The members of the hearing gasped; Harry himself was startled by Dumbledore's sudden appearance. Although, the hearing restarted almost immediately. It proceeded mostly in the ministry's convenience as unfair questions were addressed to Harry, which tried to cover up for himself but were interrupted in all of his tries. However, after being accused enough of his usage of magic, Harry shouted "It was because of the Dementors!."  Silence called upon the dungeon. "I don't understand..." replied a wizard, as Fudge followed almost immediately "Let me explain. He's been thinking through and decided Dementors would make a nice little cover-up story-" but interrupted by Harry's shouting once again; "I'm not lying!." The wizard tried to fight back towards this but was silenced by Dumbledore's clear cough. "We do, in fact, have a witness to the presence of Dementors in the alleyway." 

Mrs. Figg appeared from the dungeon door. After a short speech that made Harry extremely anxious due to its lack of detail and convinces, she has shuffled once again back to the door. As expected, Fudge loftily mentioned, "Not a very convincing witness." However, the hearing proceeded most unexpectedly as Dumbledore spoke up. The contents included Dumbledore pointing out how the dementors were under the ministry control and where the ministry's responsibility if Harry was attacked. In addition, how underage wizards were allowed to use magic when they were under the danger of their lives. Fudge tempted to fight towards Dumbledore but failed, given superb responses until he finally gave up. "those in favor of clearing the witness of all charges?." echoed a voice after Dumbledore and Fudges long interception. Harry's head jerked up as he was almost delighted with the sight. More than half of the wizards were raising their hands. Fudge spoke in a voice distorted by suppressed rage "Very well, very well...cleared of all charges." "Excellent," responded Dumbledore, as he left the dungeon without looking once at Harry.

I was relieved with Harry's clearing. Though out the chapter, there were parts where I was almost convinced with his overturn. Although I could not include as much in this blog, the conversation between Fudge and Dumbledore was written intensely. It showed how much the ministry must have been detesting Harry and Dumbledore for speaking about Voldemorts return. Although this was a negative fact and a burden for Harry and Dumbledore throughout the story, I thought it was one of the features which creates a positive type of anxiety inside the readers which stirs them to accelerate the reading of the book. This also shows often in the end of the chapters. Normally, a chapter might finish with Fudge mentioning "Very well, very well...cleared of all charges." or Dumbledore saying "Excellent." However, this chapter ends with a descriptive sentence of Dumbledore;  "And without looking once at Harry, he swept from the dungeon." This gives a wonder and anxiety, such as why Dumbledore was suddenly giving Harry cold attitudes after all his kindness towards him in the previous books. I am looking forward to the next chapters, as well as the reason to Dumbledores attitude towards Harry.
